WE LET THE HOUNDS OUT

Balanced Relationship-Based Training & Structured Obedience Hikes!

An innovative pathway to a healthy, balanced lifestyle & language for you and your canine companion.

Vancouver Island, BC.

Jess has a dedicated approach to providing balanced training and quality nutrition, through an instinct-channeling, energy-aware, and health-conscious relationship. Dog training doesn’t look the same for every dog; what works for one might not for the next. A dog’s diet can greatly impact their performance and behaviour, which plays a large part in building a balanced relationship with your canine. Looking at your dog’s overall health and lifestyle helps us to create a personalized training program tailored for their specific needs. Whether it be behaviour issues, impulse control, or basic obedience, each dog requires a specific program to fit both their needs and the owner’s.

The Goal

Through proven balanced training techniques, Jess strives to help owners channel and embrace their dogs’ natural instincts and focus on energy-aware communication with their canine. She guides owners towards balancing the right methods for their dog’s individual needs and nutrition in order to have a healthy, connected, and confident lifestyle together.

The Methods

Meet Jess - Head Trainer

Jess’s passion for dogs started early on as a little girl, tasked with walking her childhood dog, Keisha, around the neighbourhood. Keisha was a rescued shepherd mix, and she was Jess’s best friend, doing everything together.

Owning multiple dogs growing up and spending summers on the farm, from horses, pigs, goats, chickens, and of course dogs, Jess has gained ample experience with animals.

Eight years ago, Jess rescued Harley; her soul dog. Since then, she has been handling dogs professionally, with Harley by her side along the way. Over the years, Harley has taught her so much about behaviour and dog-handler communication, as well as how nutrition can directly affect a dog’s mind and performance.

Jess has gained an abundance of knowledge and has had experience handling many different breeds, energies, behaviours, and sizes of dogs over these years. While continuing to further her education on handling, training, animal psychology, and canine nutrition through courses, workshops, and collaboration.

“From Harley, that little girl and her dog walking around the neighbourhood, and every other hound in my heart, I can’t wait to meet your dogs and help create a cohesive bond for you and your canine companion.“
